The presence of three parallel scales on one transcript is the defining feature and the main source of error: a student may quote a 4 (traditional), a 'B' (ECTS) and an 82 (100-point) that all describe the same performance. The 100-point scale is not a percentage in the American sense — 60 is the pass mark and the distribution sits well below the top — so an 82 is a good result rather than the middling one it resembles.
